IRa
New 3.6.1 setup does not work as smoothly as earlier. I am installing it over old version as always before. It will give me "Fehler" announcement about recording service. That will happend also even if recording service is shut down by using taskmanager. After installation it will ask if I would like to run DVBViewer.chm (that old one from spring 2005) and the wizard, however the wizard is not starting as it did with the earlier version. Ludwig2
I had the same "fehler". Since DBVviewer did not start after installation, I did another installation to a new location. Of course, I had to scan channels and do everything else again (as first time). What ever keeps you busy, hah hah. Anyway, DBVviewer itself is working now OK. Quote Link to comment
hackbart
Hi, i know the reason is simple. Once you installed the service with the 3.6.0 version, the only way to avoid the error message is to stop the service, remove the dvb control app from autostart and to reboot. The next version should not show this behaviour. As i said, the error appears if the service is running but the installer tries to update the binary. Christian Quote Link to comment
IRa
The next version should not show this behaviour. Same problems seems to be also in 3.6.1.20. It seems to impossible (for me) to install new version, stopping DVBctrl.exe and DVBVservice.exe using task manager doesnt help anymore. By the way, there is nothing in Windows autostart folder, is that somewhere deaper ? Quote Link to comment
