Constant startup crashes in Windows 2000

Recommended Posts

The application, , generated an application error The error occurred on 07/12/2007 @ 17:12:24.820 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 004048F6 (<nosymbols>).

That's what I get every time I try to start DVBViewer.

DVB card: TechnoTrend C-1500 & CI, driver 4.4.10.18

Graphics card: GeForce FX 5200, 64M, driver 93.71

Mainboard: ancient Gigabyte something, i440BX chipset

I know the CPU is slower than your "recommended" 700 MHz, but I intend to build this machine only to transfer MPEG2-TS data over the network to my main computer (which doesn't have enough free PCI slots, otherwise I'd use it).

It makes no difference if I use -c parameter - and I get the crash message even during installation and uninstallation. I've also tried without ffdshow, no difference.

That points to another problem. How much memory do you have? Everything up to date (windows, bios, drivers, av-scan)?

448 MB RAM.

Windows as up to date as it can be,

BIOS the same,

all drivers as well,

no antivirus or firewall installed because the machine doesn't have an Internet connection.
