Klaus_1250
One of my biggest annoyances has been the slow zapping times of Digital TV. Whereas analogue provides near instantaneous zapping, DVB takes between 1 (FTA) and 3 (ENC) seconds. Now that multi-channel encryption is in the beta tree and seems to work quite nicely (at least with the Alphacrypt), perhaps it is possible to add something like "preemptive" decryption of channels to provide faster zapping. To elaborate: Whenever tuned in to a (encrypted) channel, DVBViewer would not only send the CA-PMT for the current channel to the CAM, but also the next and previous channel (if residing on the same transponder) in the channellist. This should save 1 second plus when zapping, cutting channel change times in half for encrypted channels. In situations where people have a dual-tuner or multiple cards, the system could be expanded to provide faster zapping to encrypted channels over multi transponders. I think power-users can highly appreciate such functionality. Quote Link to comment
