Jari Nopanen
Hello, When I am trying to watch H.264 coded Canal+HD HDTV channel in Finland, Helsinki Welho cable network, I encounter an error 0x80004002. I am able to watch other non-HDTV channels from the same network (also encrypted ones). Jari Nopanen
You need a H264 Video Decoder but on your system is none. I thought there would have been an internal H.264 decoder now (from dvbview web page: "Two of the most outstanding features are the multi card handling and the H.264 support. Anyway H.264 definitively needs a high end computer for decoding"). I already have tried at least two different H.264 decoders. With FFmpeg decoder I do not get error message but picture is only garbage. I have also tried Cyberlink H.264 decoder but with that I am getting the same error messages as with no H.264 decoder setup. Can somebody tell for sure if there is an internal H.264 decoder. If not, has anybody been able to find an external H.264 decoder that works with Canal+HD. Jari Quote Link to comment
Moses
There is definitevly no internal H.264 Decoder... just as there is no internal decoder for mpeg2 or any audio formats. ffdshow is not known to work, Cyberlink and Mainconcept/Elecard are the two best h.264 Decoders arround here, currently. You should make sure that DVBViewer can load and use the decoders, look into View->Filters... it could be that something went wrong during the installation / registration of the Decoder.
