MPEG2/4 to PNG frames (or something similar) ?

Does anybody know if there is a software decoder which can store PNG frames (files) or some other picture format

instead of real time video ?

I would like to compare satellite MPEG2 and DVB-T MPEG4 transmissions frame by frame.
