AC3 audio from Satellite Channels

Hi,

Problem 1)

I tried different filters to get audio out of satellite channels from AMC-3, 87 deg W and have been unsuccessful. I am able to get AC3 audio using TS Reader, VLC combination from these channels. So I ruled out all the hardware problems. I have attached support.zip file for your ref. I have tried playing Divx movie with AC3 audio, and the audio output is perfect. Need help please.

 

Problem 2)

I was playing a Divx movie and I tried fast forwarding, then the player froze. CPU utilization went up to 52%, (usually even playing HD channels, CPU utilization is about 10 to 15%.) and I had to kill the DVBViewer. I doubted on FFDshow and uninstalled the filter, then onwards while playing DivX movies there is no video. Is ffdshow must for playing DivX (.avi) files.

 

Problem 3)

While using remote control, if EPG button is pressed, there is no option to close that window. I need to use mouse / keyboard to close EPG window.

 

I bought DVBViewer to use it as one software for my HTPC. Your help will be highly appreciated. I am eagerly waiting to complete the setup and write a review on one of the major US web forum on satellites. I love that site and proud of being a senior member that portal

I recorded about few minutes as .ts and .mpg files. When I played back mpeg file in VLC, I foound that no Audio was recorded. I played back the .ts file in TSReader and there was no audio either. I do not know where I can upload such a big file on web. It is about 70MB.

Did you choose the right audiostream of the channel? Or did you select record all audio in therecording options?

Sorry for delay in getting back. Played around yesterday. I do not know how to select the correct audio stream.

 

Yesterday I found that, while playing HD video, there is no audio at all. It does not matter if the audio is AC3 or MPEG. In the status bar It says stereo audio but no sound from speakers. I tried playing a DVD with AC3 audio (DD 5.1), even it was not outputting audio. I can play the same DVD with VLC and I get Dolbydigital displayed on my audio receiver and I get 5.1 audio properly.

 

To summarize (in my computer)

1) DVBViewer 3.8.0 is not playing AC3 audio (HD, SD or DVD) except AVI with AC3 audio

2) I cannot get Audio from HD channels - AC3 or MPEG (it works well with TS reader)

 

Once I get solution to above, I will post other questions on ATSC video not playing, system hanging when I try to forward video 9not time skip) .dat / .avi files. I am few steps oh.. several feet away from putting it in living room as HTPC

 

Appreciate any help to solve the issues!
