DVBViewer Basic Functionality

byfly

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just bought DVBViewer and installed 3.9.1.1.

I got DV to start in HTPC-Mode. But I assumed that there would be a four-way control functionality as in PS3 or Xbox 360. :bounce:

Is there this kind of functionality in DV and how can get it into use? :bye:

I do not have any DVB receivers in my HTPC. I have configured all the media folders. How do access them without mouse and keyboard?

Thanks!

What is meant by four-way control? Keyboard, mouse, remote? What else is there? Remote control?

I have a Hauppauge HVR-1300 card which was bought with a remote. The remote works fine with DVBViewer, but documentation sucks so you are better off by searching these fora to find tips that will work for your hardware. Tip: if you state your hardware there is a better chance someone can help.

A few navigation tips (once you get your remote working): press TV to toggle between desktop and full screen mode. Press menu to toggle between menu on/off view. In the menu arrow up/down navigates to where you want to go. Recordings is recorded view, htpcHOME opens up a sub-menu where you have access to pictures, music, news, etc ...

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

By four-way menu I mean the same kind of usability as in PS3, X360 or Windows MCE. So that only need arrow keys and ok and cancel to select what you want.

Like these:

PS3 UI

Vista MCE

The only thing that I get when I start DV is a blank screen. And as I want to use DV with a remote, a blank screen and menu selections are not a good combination.

Is there anything in DV that is similar to these? Or did I bought the wrong software?

Add ...\DVBViewer.exe -x2110 in the DVBViewer shortcut.

Than the htpcHome is open at startup and you did not need to pres a key first.

The main Feature from the DVBViewer TV and if all menu are closed there is TV.

There are although other OSD Skin OSD (germann)
