LiMiT
Hi, I have a problem with the EPG receiving in DVBViewer. I used to get several hours/days of EPG but now I only get the upcoming two hours/two shows? The cableprovider have also done an update to the settop boxes that rendered in a total malfunction of the EPG (Samsung DCB9401). The EPG works if disconnecting the settop box from the main outlet (power) and plug it back in, but only temporary. If I do the same to the FireDTV's the EPG receiving in DVBViewer is correct but stops working after a while, which leaves me only with the latest two hours. Is this a DVBViewer solvable problem or should I file a bugreport at the hardware manufacturer (Digital Everywhere)? Is there anyway I can debug the EPG receiving in DVBViewer? support.zip Edited January 6, 2008 by LiMiT Quote Link to comment
Lars_MQ
Ask your provider. It is not a bug of the viewer or of digital everywhere. If your provider does only transmit epg for the next two hour (nothing unusual) it's not our problem. Quote Link to comment
LiMiT
Well, they are putting out several days of EPG (verified with a settop box) but DVBViewer does only display the upcoming two hours. If I pull the power to the FireDTV and reinsert it, I get full days of EPG - but only temporary, after a couple of hours, it's back to the upcoming two hours again. I have tried to find a EPG setting for this, but couldn't find any. The EPG problem is also in FireDTV Viewer (using DVBV codebase), which leads me to think that the problem lies within the hardware? Moses
That's very unlikely... the EPG Data is transmitted with the video and audio streams as "EIT" Stream. Maybe you should use transedit and it's analyzer and try to locate the EIT Streams, maybe they are only transmitted on certain transponders? Maybe the set-top-box knows about it. You problem sounds like you visit the transponder with EIT at the begining, but never again later on (DVBViewer saves the EPG Data), maybe that can give you a hint on the channel/transponder where EIT is transmitted. MZWiZard
I havr the exact same problem on canal digital Thor0,8 - on set top box everything is ok - but in DVBViewer i only get 2 hours or so. On my usb dvb-t reciever, I get lots of epg? Quote Link to comment
Tjod
Maybe thy using MediaHighway EPG. Than you have to discover on what Frequency it is transmitted. Add the Frequency in Options > SiehFern/MHW and than tune a channel on this Frequency for a few minutes. Quote Link to comment
LiMiT
I have all EPG options checked, visited all channels, tried options on/off but that didn't help either. I don't know what could be causing the problem. Quote Link to comment
LiMiT
The suggestion of visiting a channel that transmits the EPG solved all my EPG problems. Thanks for a great app! Quote Link to comment
