Klaus_1250 Posted June 7, 2008 Share Posted June 7, 2008 Try switching codecs. I noticed from the support.zip that you have rather a large amount of codecs installed, including some rather old ones. I would start by cleaning those up. Deinstall codecs and codec-packs. Google for either good codec-packs or purchase them. You can also try ATi's ones (Avivo1K). Quote Link to comment
ardua97 Posted June 9, 2008 Author Share Posted June 9, 2008 i had installed the new version 3.9.4.0 but the problem is the same Try switching codecs. Klaus_1250 Posted June 9, 2008 Share Posted June 9, 2008 (edited) Yup. You currently have these active (from the support.zip):

Elecard MPEG-2 Video Decoder

Elecard Audio Decoder

Elecard Audio Decoder

ATI MPEG Video Decoder

0

0

<System Default>

<None>

1

1

Try Switching to "CyberLink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD7)" as MPEG2 Video Decoder, and use "CyberLink Audio Decode (PDVD7.x)" as MPEG Audio decoder. Also, are you using Overlay, VMR7, VMR9 or EVR? Try switching between Overlay, VMR7 and VMR9. Also try to see if ticking/unticking (Nvidia) VMR Fix solves the issue (for some reason it says nVidia, but is also solves issues with ATi). But really really, clean up your codecs! In the list for your system, I see very ancient ones, beta ones (don't ever use beta's unless you know how to remove them), trial-version and broken codecs. I also see (file missing) several times. That means the installation is broken. ATi's MPEG decoder is also a beta. You REALLY need to clean out all of those codecs, it is only going to cause problems. Installing new ones is easy. Edited June 9, 2008 by Klaus_1250 Quote Link to comment

Klaus_1250 Posted June 9, 2008 Share Posted June 9, 2008 The best way... using the same programs that installed them. They usually put a deinstall program in the same folder where they installed the codec. The may also show up in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel (forgot the name it has in Vista). The other way is to use something like Codec Sniper (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Codec_Sniper) but I'm not sure if that will work with Vista. But be carefull with Codec Sniper, you don't want to remove the wrong codecs (e.g. check and double-check). You can use the codec tweak tool (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Codec_Tweak_Tool.htm) to check for any broken codecs afterwards. Again, use it with care. Quote Link to comment
