HTTP server won't start DVB Viewer

Recommended Posts

It seems that I cannot get beyond the 'Start DVBViewer" screen. I click the button and get returned to the same screen, whether DVBViewer is running or not. Can I get any clue as to what is the issue here, please? I have tried everything I can think of regarding permissions etc.

TV Card Hauppauge Nova-S2

Driver 2.122.26109.0

Mainboard Asus P5KC

Chipset Intel P35

Graphic card ATI Radeon HD 3870

Running Vista 64-bit Ultimate

I am attaching screenshots of the running server GUI and the web page I get and cannot get beyond. Enclosed is also the Support.zip file.

Try starting the DVBViewer one time with admin rights (right click run as Admin).

It seams that there is something wrong with the DVBCOMServer.

I had already tried that & just to make sure, did it again. Same problem. I also tried to run the server with admin rights. It also didn't help. What is the DVBCOMServer? I guess it must be the activeX control behind the webserver, but where is it located (or am I wrong there?). In any case, 'something wrong' is not too clear. I am willing to try anything and submit anything within reason, to find a solution.

The DVBViewer Pro has a COM Interface this is the way HTTP server and DVBViewer communicate with each other.

But at lest the SupportTool is not able to detect the Version "DVBCOMServer Version: -1".

But if the start with Admin rigts did not help i have no idea.

Thanks a lot for your efforts. I hope someone can help. What is the name of the DVBCOMServer dll file? I don't seem to have that many dlls in the application folder.

Excuse my ignorance but I just ran the support tool again and this is in the new support zip file (enclosed), in systeminfo.txt:

-------------------------

System:

-------------------------

DVBViewer Version: 3.9.4.0

DVBViewer Size: 1,373

DVBServer Version: 3.9.4.0

DVBVservice Version: 1.4.4.25 (beta)

Webinterface Version: 1.5.0.0 (beta)

DVBSource Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\DVBViewer\Filters\PushSource.ax

DVBSource Version: 3.0.2.0

DVBCOMServer Path: C:\PROGRA~2\DVBVIE~1\DVBVIE~1.EXE

DVBCOMServer Version: 3.9.4.0

Doesn't this mean that DVBViewer.exe (Version: 3.9.4.0) is the com server itself? The only other candidate for the server is DVBViewerS.exe and that seems to be the recording service. Presumably my system was in some other state, when it created the zip file last time and returned the 'DVBCOMServer Version: -1' entry.

However, the button on the NoService page still returns me back to the NoService page, every time.
