daKlone
Hi, I'm having a problem with DVBViewer v3.9.4.0 whereby it freezes after only a couple of minutes. It doesn't seem to matter which channel I'm on, it always seems to happen in the same way - the picture freezes then after a few seconds the sound stops too. It never seems to run for more than five or six minutes at a time - which as you can imagine is absolutely useless! Interestingly, it doesn't hog processor time or start gobbling up memory as you might expect, but it does give you the hourglass if you hover over it and Task Manager eventually reports it as 'not responding'. The only way to stop it is to kill it's process. Another interesting point is that I also have FireDTV Viewer v1.0.2.102 that came with my FloppyDTV card and that seems to work pretty well. Anyway, here are the details of my system: Asus M3A78EH motherboard (AMD 780G/SB700 chipset) with AMD Athlon X2 5600 processor; Windows XP Pro SP3 (fully updated); Digital Everywhere FloppyDTV S2 card running firmware v1.4.0 Build 21440 with FireDTV BDA driver v5.0.1.0; nVidia Quadro FX570 video card running nVidia driver v6.14.11.7813; T-Rex/Dragon CAM loaded with Predator v3.69 firmware. Below is the output of the FireDTV support tool: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Digital Everywhere Support Report: v1.1 (2231-13) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Generated on (Y/M/d): 2008.12.06 FireDTV / FloppyDTV devices: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- devices found: 1 Status for device 1 Model : FloppyDTV S2 GUID : 0x001287240400224C HW Ver.: 01.24.04 FW Ver.: 1.4.0 Build 21440 Driver : 5.0.1 Frontend Status: Sig.Str.: 100%, BER: 0 Locked : YES CAM Module: PRED 3.69 Windows System Information: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OS Path: C:\WINDOWS OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP, Service Pack 3 (Build: 2600) OHCI Controller: Manufacturer: VIA Description: VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller FireDTV Tools: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Remote Control Path: C:\Program Files\FireDTV\Tools\RemoteControl.exe Product Ver: 1.9.0.0 File Ver: 1.9.0.0 Attached is the output of the DVBViewer support tool also. daKlone
I noticed that my FloppyDTV firmware was not the latest version, so updated it to v1.5.0 - no change. Also updated my video card driver to the latest 178.46 drivers (v6.14.11.7846) - no change. Tried it without the CAM inserted on a FTA channel - no change. I don't really know what else to try now...any ideas? Quote Link to comment
