Guest Oliver Posted January 26, 2004 Share Posted January 26, 2004 Hello! Although it is not that widely known, ATI Radeon cards do have a severe problem with overlay in high resolutions. That means you have only half the horizontal resolution at high resolutions and refresh rates. For example at 1600 * 1200/32/85 the overlay resolution is only 800 pixels. You can easily notice it when looking at borders or letters, especially when watching TV in a relatively small desktop window. Follgott, moderator of the HDTV-forum at www.beisammen.de, has thoroughly investigated the matter. Here is the link to the corresponding thread (German only).
