Robi!
Hello everybody, and thanks for this great piece of software! I discovered a small bug. I added to DVBViewer a Hungarian RSS feed from the Public Radio of Hungary: http://www.mr1-kossuth.hu/index.php?option...0&no_html=1 It looks like there's something wrong with the display of charset. Please have a look at the attached screenshots. The difference can be easily recognized. Is there a way to fix it? I'm using DVBViewer 4.0 Pro. Thanks! Edited May 2, 2009 by Robi! Gioxy
Helooooooo! Is there anyone outthere? Sure, but probably nobody noticed yet this kind of problem... BTW, in Italian there wasn't problem with "special chars", rather the line-feed aren't rispected... Is there a way to fix it? Hummm, I don't think so... Have you already tested with other Hungaryan RSS feeds? Quote Link to comment
Robi!
Sure, but probably nobody noticed yet this kind of problem... I especially provided the link to test with, nobody from support department tried it? At least somebody please confirm if it's a general problem, or it happens only to me. Have you already tested with other Hungaryan RSS feeds? Yes. Situation is even worse: they don't display at all: http://www.nlcafe.hu/rss/ http://www.fn.hu/rss/feed_cimoldal_mind.xml http://index.hu/x?t=/24ora/rss/ This one displays correctly: http://origo.hu/contentpartner/rss/hircentrum/origo.xml Anybody have a clue? I'd really appreciate some help here. Not only because I paid for the software and I contrubuted with a 100% complete hungarian translation, but because I believe my feedback can be useful to developers for debugging. Currently using the 4.0.1.50 Beta. Quote Link to comment
Gioxy
Anybody have a clue? Yes: most probably the incostant behaviour is caused by the big mess of RSS format and variants that nowadays RSS have (you can read about that in the Wiki RSS page)... About 4 years ago DVBViewer where capable to open all RSS I configured out, even with image inside (...I remember Doonesbury daily strips...), but AYK things goes on, and probably the DVBViewer's RSS reader/render engine wasn't updated anymore, IMO simply because the main effort was hardly focused on other DVBViewer features... And I agree with you in advance: a RSS capability update whould be greatly apreciated by many peolple... Quote Link to comment
Robi!
Thank you. I was hoping some of the developers can answer too... Quote Link to comment
Robi!
I tried changing the encoding of myrss.xml, by changing the parameter <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?> to <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-2"?>(which coresponds to the encoding of the most Hungarian feeds), but no luck.
