Kommakul
Hi All I'm currently using Task Scheduler, but have followed the development of the service with interest. Could anyone state the advantages of the service over the Scheduler (or the opposit...) Would it be worthwhile to change to the Service? I'm using a one pc setup that I put to hibernate, when I do not use it. I use TVGG and Importxmltv to import EPG. Thank you for any input Christian Link to comment

Is the autosearch function similar to the EPG Plus plugin? Better? Christian Link to comment
Devastation
Is the autosearch function similar to the EPG Plus plugin? Better? I never used this plugin so I will not say better but similar should be ok. Great + for me is that when recording its updating EPG with the second hardware. Link to comment

uglyned
I used the EPG search plugin for a while before switching to the recording service. It was a while ago now but I do remember preferring the recording service. The EPG updates automatically and I can set up tasks within the recording service to scan the EPG and pick the shows out according to my search - I don't have to manually go in and do that myself. Sometimes it picks up repeats of programmes or ones that I don't want but I can disable those from the DVBViewer OSD timer list because it's linked to the recording service timer list. You should give it a go. Link to comment
