Andrey123456 Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 original is here http://grabing.info/content/view/20/31/ English translation you can see below ________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________ Tips to reduce the breaks (discontinuity) 1. Defragment hard disk. 2. Change the priority for DVB cards. 3. Turn off all third party software and devices, all free of interruption. 4. Reinstall the OS. 5. Repeat step 2-3. 6. If the issue persists, put Linux. 7. Recompile the kernel to allocate maximum resources for DVB cards. 8. Remove all unnecessary applications, including graphical user interface. 9. If the issue persists, adjust the position of the plates, or / and change it, the signal level is desirable 80%, can be 60% (but then forget about the archives and programs - too likely that prokradetsya error). 10. Return your DVB card - it is faulty, after all above listed should be no gaps at all. My computer's configuration and OS (zero breaks always): Sempron 2800 + (64 bit); 1GB Ram; ATA 200 screw; SkyStar 2; Windows XP (32bit); The rest is not important. On my computer during grabing (without breaks), you can watch a movie, to be online, play on ADSL - no problems. ________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________ This is the theory. Assuming, scope of this forum is SAT TV, not internet, practical tips may be different. I am interested in this topic because I have discontinuity problem. I see it as random, short time picture freezing. Problem raised up after Skystar S2 became a part of my equipment. May be it is just a bad luck, may be faulty card, may be something happened with antenna - I want to find out what exactly is causing discontinuity. It happens aproximately once or twice during 2 - 4 hours of wathcing TV. With such low frequency of the problem I need some tool to write a log of what is going on inside DVBViewer. Is there a debug version or some tool to do this? Any practical experience like "I have the same or another card, did this, that - discontinuity disappeared" is also welcome. Let's get all the knowledge together and fight discontinuities. Quote
