bogger
I want to record programs either directly in avi format with mp3 (eg lame) audio, or in a higher format with transcoding later on. The reason is I do most of my viewing in an archos video device and that is the standard it takes. I'm new to DVBViewer and getting a bit lost in all the settings. Could someone guide me on how to that. thanks Quote Link to comment
Lars_MQ
Record as Transport Stream (TS) and then transcode it. The Viewer won't do that for you. Quote Link to comment
bogger
thanks. but where to I set up the transcode settings and where do I run the transcoder from? Can it run automatically after the ts is recoreded. apologies if its in the manual but it will not open properly for me. (I get the contents but the pages are blank?) Quote Link to comment
Griga
DVBViewer can't do that for you. Transcoding to AVI/MP3 is not supported. You will have to use other software. Quote Link to comment
bogger
such as?. which transcoder can handle .ts files?. Or can I record in .mpg files instead? Quote Link to comment
Griga
Well, there is a search engine named Google... maybe you've already heard of it. Use "cconvert TS to AVI" or "convert MPG to AVI" keywords. Quote Link to comment
Lakeuk
http://www.videohelp.com is the oracle for transcoding questions Quote Link to comment
