MikadoTM
Hi, with using my SECA II module in the Technisat SkyStar USB HD CI. The free channels are working fine, but as soon as I try to watch encrypted channels it goes wrong . I tried 2 different version of DVBViewer. 1. The DVBViewer TechniSat edition version 4.5.1.29 In this version the CAM is working but unstable you can watch encrypted channels for a couple of seconds and then is freezes for a couple of seconds and start again and freezes, etc. Switching back to a FTA channel is no problem and I can watch the FTA channel no problem. 2. The DVBViewer Pro In this works fine until I switch to an encrypted channel. Then I see the message that I am not allowed to watch the program and the screen stays dark. After that all FTA channels are freezing and start running like the encrypted ones for the other version. Restarting DVBViewer does not help. Only pulling the CAM module does. I can only guess what is going wrong here. Does anybody have this combination working or a suggestion how to fix it? MikadoTM support.zip Edited November 5, 2009 by MikadoTM Quote Link to comment

Derrick
..seems to be a problem with your module. Maybe a different ttBdaDrvApi_Dll could help but I only can guess cos I don't have your hardware. Which module do you use? Is it the original canal digitaal seca module? I've once bought such a module but sent it back after I experienced similar problems in a differrent configuration (firedtv). On certain transponders the high bitrate of the multiplex was overloading the module. ps. try transedit's analyzer. If it shows missing packets when the module is inserted and no missing packet after pulling the module, you know who's to blame Quote Link to comment
MikadoTM
Ok, some more information. It is a original canal digitaltaal module. It works fine in my echo start decoder and used to work fine with the KNC 1 PCI S card I used to have (AbsolutTV). The problem is that I put in a second video card (cross fire) in which blocked all the PCI ports on my mobo. So I decided to go for the TechniSat USB. I wanted to go to an S2 card anyway. I checked and could not find any problems with the packages in transedit's analyzer. Also tried all the different ttBdaDrvApi_Dll I could find on my disks. No change in behavior. Thanks MikadoTM Quote Link to comment
Derrick
Then I have no idea. Could be that with TT the module is not physically inserted in the signal path when using transedit. Then you won't see if there's a bottleneck. With firedtv the module is always present when it's in the CI slot. Your receiver probably filters the stream so not the entire mux is sent through the CI. If you can, try a different module. Quote Link to comment
MikadoTM
May be the idea about the overloading bit rat is not so strange after all. After I noticed some some encrypted channels are actually working. I did some more investigation and all the working channels are on transponders with about 33-34 Mbit while the ones that are not working are on transponders with about 38 Mbit. Why the module is working in other receivers then I don't know. Derrick when you send back you module did you actually find a module that works? I don't want to get another canal digitaal module and have the same problem again. Edited November 6, 2009 by MikadoTM Quote Link to comment
Tjod
Why the module is working in other receivers then I don't know. May be thy use some some kind of PID filter between tuner and CI. Quote Link to comment

I wanted to check the HD-services on 23,5E but my crappy matrix cam didn't work on those channels. That's why I bought the module. Satshop.nl, de Digitale TV specialist------------------------------------------------------ Besteldatum: dinsdag 07 april 2009 Artikel ------------------------------------------------------ 1 x Canal Digitaal CI module (Mediaguard) (CD CI) = €47,50 After I found out that the module couldn't cope with the 46mbps mux of the dvb-s2 transponder 11856H on 23,5E I sent the module back and got my money refunded. I've never bought a new one cos now I can watch "NederlandHD" with my seca card in a multicas HD-receiver Quote Link to comment
MikadoTM
Ok, I tested it now with the Aston SECA module and it appears to work fine with the DVBViewer TechniSat edition version 4.5.1.29 . The pro version and the TE 2 version still don't get me a picture . Quote Link to comment
Derrick
Different problem but still no picture.. ..this time is probably related to an incomprehensive or incomplete CA_PMT. Maybe @Lars could comment Quote Link to comment

MikadoTM
I extended my sat system from 2 to 4 satellites. I also have Astra 23.5 now and surprisingly the channels on there work with the Aston CI and Media Guard smart card. The channels on Astra 19.2 don't. Why this is I have no idea but thought it is interesting enough to share. MikadoTM Quote Link to comment
Derrick
..different CAS structure on 19E. There you have simulcrypt with irdeto and seca, whereas 23E is seca only. A filtered CA_PMT could help but will not be provided by DVBV. Get yourself a module that complies to the standard. Quote Link to comment
MikadoTM
I downloaded the DVBViewer 4.3.1.150 BETA and everything works. Edited June 13, 2010 by MikadoTM Quote Link to comment

I have an Aston 1.07 CAM with software version 2.18. Most encrypted HD channels work except for brava HDTV and NGC HD on 23.5E and MTVNHD on 19.2E When watching live football or Tennis for example on Eurosport, the the image freezes after each 20 minutes (audio continues in the background) and DVBV resets itself automatically to continue again. I got information that there is a newer version of software for the Aston CAM but I don't know how to get my CAM upgraded. Anybody got information on how I can get my module upgraded? Thanks.
