Is the DVB subtitles delay supposed to work?

Hi,

 

Is the DVB subtitles delay supposed to work or not (I'm mainly using DVB subtitles with HD H264 + AC3 / E-AC3 recordings)? because whatever value I use doesn't seem to affect the presentation time of the subtitles (playing back a recording, I rarely use live viewing).

 

Note: it seems to me that DVBViewer does show up the sub at the right time (if I check a recording in VLC the subs are displayed approximately at the same time). In my case it's a little to early (I guess between 500ms to 1000ms too early).
