'Error in user settings' problem

Brand new installation using license code bought this afternoon on Windows 7 x64. DVBViewer is working fine with my Compro S350 DVB-S card. It scans correctly, and right now is playing CSI on UK channel 5.

 

However, if I try and record to disk, after 5 seconds or so I get the error message as in the title with no additional clue as to what is wrong.

 

Can anyone help?
