joe2537 Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Some HD AC3 channels come with sound on first switching attempt, others only on the second attempt. support.zipDVB source shows: Audio state : No data – connected Normal watching: not a big issue, re-switching fixes the problem. Automatic recording of HD channels is without sound for the ‘problematic channels’. Same problem on versions 4.2.1 and 4.5, the support file attached for version 4.5. Tried without success: - Various AC3 filters (AC3, ffdshow, cyberlink, unlikely to be the cause as some channels have work well) - TV/Radio Pre-Format Detection selected (Under Options, Direct X) - Re-tune when missing stream using values of 2, 5, 10, 15 seconds (under Options, Hardware) - Force the audio to MPEG instead of AC3 in the channel editor: this works once only, as DVBViewer forces back to AC3. Thanks for considering this issue, Kind Regards. PS: Would there be a possibility to make a kind of patch, to force some channels to be switched twice? Griga Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Some HD AC3 channels come with sound on first switching attempt, others only on the second attempt. Encrypted channels? If yes it could be a CI/CAM problem. Use the DVBViewer Filter property page to check if (readable) audio data arrives. Quote
Blackbear Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 i am new user and have same problem with sat 82.0W hd channels(they use ac3 audio). my setup... win 7 64 bit genpix skywalker 1 scanning is ok,sd channels are ok(they are mpeg audio) for me if i check the channel properties i noticed it scanned it as mpeg audio and no pid is shown(should be ac3 audio) take note of the transponder freq. open transedit, select the above transponder and select analyse window will open and u see all channels on that transponder u will see the audio and video pid. i had to change the audio to ac3 and manually add the ac3 audio pid to get sound. joe2537 Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 Thanks. Yes, channels are encrypted (French Canal+). The problem is similar to the one in this post: http://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/topic/32641-no-sound-on-tf1-hd-channel/ Here are the DVB Filter properties, which show audio: "not connected" and "reconnected" after re-selecting the channel. Thanks to Blackbear as well: Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem. Quote
Griga Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Here are the DVB Filter properties, which show audio: "not connected" and "reconnected" after re-selecting the channel. The first screenshot shows "no data", which means, DVBViewer gets no audio data or the data is encrypted (thus unreadable for the DVBViewer Filter and decoders). Most likely a CI/CAM problem. It doesn't decrypt audio on first try. Automatic recording of HD channels is without sound for the ‘problematic channels’. As a work-around you can try to schedule two subsequent recordings, the first one very short, just for getting the thing going. Make sure that there is no playback going on when the first scheduled recording is started, because continuous playback will prevent DVBViewer from re-initializing your hardware for the second recording. @Blackbear: Does the TransEdit scanner detect the AC3 streams? Blackbear Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 yes transedit see's ac3.i was also getting alot of unknown durung scan, channel list was a mess.searching i found a post with simalar problem with dishnetwork(sat 110.0W & 119.0W).i changed sdt in scanner 2 from 5000 to 200000(dunno if i had to go that high) and rescanned(did'nt add any extra parameter to sat ini file as suggested in thread),scanned every channel perfect.so other that it not detecting audio correctly on ac3 channels during scan, its workin great for me.adding ac3 pid fixes sound so no big deal for me. Mrfingers Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I'm seeing pretty much the same thing scanning, even with SD channels with AC3 audio. Transedit says AC3 but the APID is always zero. If I manual change it and force it to AC3 the audio works. Quote
