rapper Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Hi I have bought a IR (infra red) reciever and I wanna use it for controlling DVBViewer. As I have read in different forums it seems that USB versions don't work correctly for remote controlling I am currently using it with my cell phone Can anyone explain me? Is it possible to configure it with Girder or other programs?? Quote
Hartwig Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Is it an IrDA Receiver?? Than it is very difficult, because that one is not suitable for the Remote. Quote
rapper Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 Is it an IrDA Receiver? I think so Does it mean that it's impossible to get it with a remote?? Quote
Technofriend Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 As far as I know in irda-receivers the receiving-logic is build in. and it is different from that of ir-remotecontrols. thats why it is difficult. maybe out there is a solution, but I don't know of such a thing. Quote
Hartwig Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Or you can build an USB Infrared Receiver http://www.cesko.host.sk/IgorPlugUSB/IgorP...20(AVR)_eng.htm That sounds very good (e.g. for Notebooks without a COM-port). I think, I will build it, too. (...But it seems to be a little bit demanding. ) Quote
Technofriend Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 (edited) Well. It doesn't look THAT difficult. If you put the ic on a socket it should be possible to complete such a task. German translation: Naja. So kompliziert siehts doch garnicht aus. Wenn man den IC sockelt, sollte das imho machbar sein... Edited July 9, 2004 by Technofriend Quote
Hartwig Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 have a look at this one... http://www.cesko.host.sk/girderplugin.htm this is very easy to create. And look at the pictures. The result seems to be very small. But it's not for USB. Quote
