snoffer
I read that in order to record using the timer, DVBViever must be running. If I go on a 3-week vacation I would prefer not have DVBViever running on my computer continuously. DVBViever is such a good product that there must be a better way to do this, but how? Can I somehow put the computer to sleep and have it wake up automatically when it's time to record and then go back to sleep again? Quote Link to comment

snoffer
Ok, thanks. I must say, though, the timer functionality in DVBViewer is a little misleading... Edited December 14, 2010 by snoffer Quote Link to comment
majstang
I have the Recording Service running, but I am only able to record if DVBViewer is running at the time when the recording is supposed to start. Is scheduling a recording using the Recording Service different from scheduling a recording using the timer in DVBViewer? Then you havent followed the installation guide and got it right! http://en.DVBViewer.tv/wiki/Recording_Service_Installation_Guide To answer your question read the link desweil posted for you.
