ghaniloog
Hello folks. I've had a LOT of DVBViewer locks these days, while they did not happened a week ago under the same circumstances. The big updates that have been made are... windows system updates. Program (Pro 4.5) halts during recordings. It becomes unaccessible and must be killed the hard way. When i use Process Monitor and check the files accessed by the program, it shows a loop of "SHARING VIOLATION" on file C:\ProgramData\CMUV\DVBViewer\DVBViewer.log and the log file itself displays the traces of this loop... Sample of the errors detected (Process Monitor log) : Date & Time: 24/12/2010 15:33:22Event Class: File System Operation: CreateFile Result: SHARING VIOLATION Path: C:\ProgramData\CMUV\DVBViewer\DVBViewer.log TID: 4224 Duration: 0.0003914 Desired Access: Generic Read/Write Disposition: Open Options: Synchronous IO Non-Alert, Non-Directory File Attributes: N ShareMode: Read AllocationSize: n/a ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date & Time: 24/12/2010 15:33:22 Event Class: File System Operation: CreateFile Result: SHARING VIOLATION Path: C:\ProgramData\CMUV\DVBViewer\DVBViewer.log TID: 4224 Duration: 0.0005300 Desired Access: Generic Write, Read Attributes Disposition: OverwriteIf Options: Synchronous IO Non-Alert, Non-Directory File Attributes: N ShareMode: Read AllocationSize: 0 -------------- I do NOT try to run other instance of the program. I have no other recording starting. It's a basic recording. I have 500GB available on the 1TO recording disk. Lock happens in every display setup: app minimized, or video normally displayed or even when video is disabled. System - Seven pro 32 bits M/B - Graphics - Asus a8r32 mvp deluxe ATI/ULi M1575 chipset AMD 4800+ processor 3GB mem - ATI graphics card HD4650 with driver v. 10.11 (Other recordings were perfect earlier, under this same driver version.) DVB cards - DVBS/S2: Mystique Satix dvb-s2 with external CI Driver: KNC1 BDA version 2.1.1130.0 (locks happened also with the previous version of driver i had, the 2.1.816.0) - DVBT: Leadtek Pdvr3200h w latest drivers (Not used nor accessed by other app) It happened three times yesterday, on a DVB-S free channel (ITV3 on Astra 2D 10906V) It killed all recordings after +/- 90 minutes of proper working each time. And, btw, log is 380 MB, compressed to 6 MB. I had to upload support.zip to this location : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PO4XK767 (rename it as a zip) You can see the loop in the process monitor screen cap, below. Cheers people. Griga
it shows a loop of "SHARING VIOLATION" Thanks for the helpful report. One part of the problem seems to be an exception that is raised while DVBViewer is writing to the log file, triggering another log entry. So DVBViewer again tries to open the file for write access, which isn't possible, because it is already open, causing another exception... and so on, endlessly. This is a DVBViewer fault, and it will be fixed. The initial cause remains unclear, though. Quote Link to comment
