Recording Service preventing normal Timer operation

I cannot get the latest recording service to work correctly. In fact I have had a number of problems with it not recording properly or not functioning.

The latest is on a brand new windows XP install with DVBViewer 4.5 and recording service 1.6.8.2.

When I add a timer via DVBViewer it does not appear in the timer list but it does get sent to the recording service. So I cannot edit the timer in DVBViewer which I used to be able to do with 1.5. I believe the correct settings are enabled to allow this but I am still unable to see the timer in DVBViewer Timer window. If I disable the service in DVBViewer the timer stays in the timer window but with the service enabled it never shows.

I think you need to enable "Connect to timer list" in DVBViewer/Options/Recording Service

Enables the DVBViewer to show and edit the timer list of the Recording Service.

Thanks but I do already have that enabled but it doesn't show anything in the timer list when I click the Add button. The only time anything is shown in the timer list is if I de-activate the rec service in DVBViewer.

I will add that I did check that the connection to the service is working because the test button does show the service version.

lol For some unknown reason it is now working. I didn't alter any settings, the only thing I did was click the service test button, which I had done previously and it showed as working. I did try many times, shutting down both the service and DVBViewer on many occasions without success. But now it seems to be working as it should be. The question is, why didn't it do it previously?

There seems to be some Peculiar bugs in it as there does seem some strange things happening with the new recording service versions. Not recording multiple channels on different tuners is one I was getting before but that seems to be working now. That was occurring on two different windows installs and a number of people were experiencing the same thing.
