Recording Service Setup

Recording Service is wonderful - it really is.

 

I think you could do a little more to make the setup easier and less error prone.

Unfortunately not everyone will read the guide to install beforehand, and I think Recording Service will still work, albeit potentially some issues if not configured correctly...

 

So some suggestions (some may be already planned, I havent seen a roadmap)

 

- Make recording service an optional install component of the main DVBViewer installer

- If recording service is installed, ask the user if they want to activate it, and if they do, then set recommended options automatically

- Prevent users from selecting the same recordings folder as the local instant recordings folder.

 

Essentially, the less manual configuration that is required for the majority of users, the less you will have people asking for support with ill-configured installations.
