uglyned
Hi, It would be nice if the Recording Service could try to resolve clashes. I don't know what it's like in other countries but in the UK a lot of transponder and mux space is wasted with so-called 'Plus one' channels where an entire channel is devoted to showing what another channel showed one hour ago. If the Recording service knows this, and if it knows that, say, a DVB-T card also exists, it could have some rules to follow in the event of a clash. 1. Is there a +1 channel? If so, disable a clashed recording and add one for the +1 2. Does this channel exist via another DVB type? If so disable a clash and add (ie no DVB-S hardware left but there is a DVB-T free) You could have a little recording service message centre where it leaves you little messages saying what it's done ie 2010/3/3 - Clash with programme x found on channel y. Disabled and added timer event z instead. The message could have hyperlinks to each event mentioned so I can go and fix it if it's not what I want. I know it's probably a lot of work but it would be very clever and useful. Quote Link to comment
