Kiwi_Tim
Hello, I’m shopping for a new PCI card that is DVB-S2 capable. If it can blind scan, that is very good, but most important is that it is reasonably sensitive to pick up weak signals. I live down in New Zealand and there is not great variety available down here (just Hauppauge and TeVii), so I'll probably have to buy from Europe. I have a short list of cards and am wondering what other people think of them. TBS 8921 http://www.tbsdtv.com/english/product/8921.html TeVii S464 http://www.tevii.com/Products_S464_1.asp Technotrend TT-S2-3200 http://www.tt-pc.com/2764/TT-budget__S2-3200.html Technotrend TT-S2-1600 http://www.tt-pc.com/2920/TT-budget__S2-1600.html Of the last 2 cards, TT-s2-3200 and TTs2-1600, they look to be much the same except the 1600 doesn’t have the option of CI. Was considering the Prof Revolution, but can't see where to buy it from that will do international shipping, and that has a website in English. I have heard that the blind scan of the TBS card is not all that straight forward. The TBS blind scan software is a bit flakey. The TeVii card has a semi-hardware blind scan capacity using TransEdit. So far I’m leaning towards the TeVii S464. I’d appreciate any feedback and opinions out there. Especially, any problems with DiSEqC or DVB-S/S2 reception. I have already heard that the TT-S2-3200 is a very good card, but wonder how it compares to the TeVii S464. Many thanks, Tim New Zealand Quote Link to comment
Kiwi_Tim
Well, I've changed my mind. I'm now looking at the Black Gold BGT3595. "BGT3595 Premium multi-tuner PCI express X1 dual digital satellite DVB-S/S2, dual digital terrestrial DVB-T, world standard analogue terrestrial product" all on one PCIe x1 slot. http://shop.blackgold.tv/epages/BT3159.sf/en_AU/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT3159/Products/BGT3595 This means I can fit more DVB-S/S2 tuners on my system without giving up any DVB-T tuners. If anybody has any feedback on this device, I'd really appreciate it. Many thanks, Tim New Zealand Quote Link to comment
