Win 2000: Occassional system crash

Supposed bug:

I occasionally get complete system freezes (only pressing

the reset button helps) when changing channels or starting DVBViewer.

I am using a DisecQ-Setup with Astra/Hotbird.

I currently have a rather "crude" LNB-setup with 54% signal

quality with Astra and 39% to 43% with Hotbird.

Maybe the signal occasionally drops out and causes the

freeze - this could be a possible cause.

Installed Version of DVBViewer:

Current free version as of 27th August packaged with the

Technisat software version 4.2.11

OS: Win 2000

Graphics adapter: Radeon 9200

If you should need any further info regarding my setup just let me know.

Many thanks in advance ;)

Greetings,

Georg

Possible. Tune one of the channels with the DVBViewer, then close it. Then watch the Setup4PC status page for a while. See wether any lost packets are reported there.

BTW: Remove Setup4PC and particularly Server4PC form the autostart folder, since they sometimes cause trouble (may be the reason too). They can be launched as well manually, if required.

Hello Griga,

thanks a lot for your reply.

I have tested transponders on both Astra and Hotbird

and there are no lost packets when running it for several minutes.

I have removed Server4PC from Autostart as you

suggested and this seems to have solved the problem.

Thank you once again Griga - DVBViewer is a great

software in my opinion (I should definitely consider

buying the Full version) and this is a great community ;)

Greetings,

Georg
