CupawnTae
Is %name a standard/supported variable for a file naming scheme? I don't see it listed on the wiki page but it seems to work for me. I just wanted to be sure it isn't a secret/hidden/unsupported feature that might disappear in a future release. (My use case is I'm adding timers via the http api and including episode number info in the event name, but if I record using %event in the pattern it takes the programme name from the EPG instead of the name I provided and the episode number is not available in the EPG. I just tried %name instead of %event to see what would happen and was very pleased to see it did exactly what I wanted). Link to comment

It appears that whatever you enter into the name field of a timer can be inserted in the name scheme by using %name. It doesn't appear to be mentioned anywhere though Barry Link to comment
CupawnTae
Thanks for the confirmation Barry. I guess the real question is can it be relied upon to stay that way... Link to comment
barrygreybeard
Unless the "powers that be" confirm this as a feature we can only hope as I find it useful, inserting episode numbers manually for example as you mentioned. Link to comment
