Remote of Avermedia Txin star PCI-e

esperado

Recommended Posts

I'm able to change channels sounds and navigate with the remote of this TNT card.

But the other functions works only in the (poor) Avermedia center or MCE (with an addon).

When the remote is fixed for MCE.

I wonder if there is any way (hacking registry, for example) to make the other commands of this remote working in DVB. (For the moment, pressing full screen, or blue, green, red button, lunch MCE. I would like it lunch DVB and communicate to it.

Thanks in advance.

There is definitaly a lack of tools to control remotes in DVBViewer and no documentation. Many other free Media Centers offers several tools to be controlled from a lot of remotes. Why not DVB ?

Tried a lot of things, Girder, Event ghost etc... No luck.

EventGhost has build in DVBViewer support. So if EventGhost recognizance your remote it will work without problems.

For Girder support:

http://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/topic/16772-girder-4x-plugin-for-DVBViewer-36/

or use Girder plugins with the DVBViewer:

http://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/topic/30033-input-plugin-fur-girder-plugins/

a another tool which maybe supports your remote

http://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/topic/42774-remotetray-ehemals-ttremotetray/

if the remote sends Multimedia Key events

http://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/topic/39857-inputplugin-for-multimedia-keys-incl-sources/page__p__291044#entry291044

MCE (with an addon)
sounds as if thy using a proprietary API which most likely mean that someone needs to special plugin write a for the DVBViewer.

You need to disable MCE to use those buttons. This is one way

I use a MCE remote with no inputplugins. You can use the Learn function to assign buttons to functions. The script "command.vbs" can also be edited to create different functions for the same button depending on window (TV, OSD, playback, etc).

I don't have a *MCE remote*. I just want to use the Avermedia remote connected in the PCI-e card (Twin star) in DVB

All that is so confusing, and no support at all from Avermedia (they don't even understand what the words 'mails' or 'support' means).

Don't buy their stuff !!!

Well i had installed an Avermedia program "Averquick" with can transform my remote in a MCE one ?

If i tune (in Averquick) the remote for Avermedia center, nothing is working outside of Avermedia center.

If i set the remote to use MCE:

Whatever i try, if i use the blue-to-red buttuns and several others, it lunch MCE.

I had tried the last free Girder, my remote does not work in it with his Avermedia plugin in it (what a poor interface).

I had tried Eventghost. It seems to recognize my remote (when it is set to be used with MCE) and, on an other side, can send correct orders to DVB in test mode. But whatever i try, MCE lunch itself if i use HID buttons.

Hours on that, too many programs, plugins, set-ups, no clear help file nowhere, nothing described: i'm pissed-off !

My god, it would be so complicated to write a program *with an interface* witch hack RPC/HID, print and learn any commands send from any RC5/RC6 remote ?

And to get support *in English* for those so many schizophrenic DVB plugins ?

At the end, i was able to get this remote working 95% (Thanks all of you for your help and good tracks).

It need "Averquick", (the service had to be lunched, and config to MCE)

It need to deactivate media center http://www.ehow.com/how_6304199_disable-media-center-remote-control.html (thanks Qbox user)

It need Event ghost (takes some hours to set-up) running.. with his DVBViewer and HID plugin running.

Ouch !

After that, you can say:"I did-it !"

After that, do not open Averquick again. If you do so, it will loose the MCE option (because MCE has been de-activated,) and return in Avermedia mode.

The the only way to recover would be to re-activate MCE, reboot, reopen Aver Quick, and chose MCE. Then reboot, and de-activate MCE again.
