ddichiera
Hi everyone, Is it possible to stream media other than off-air recordings via the web interface? By this I mean my movies or audio. I've looked thought the wiki and set-up panel to no avail, although I can't see why it wouldn't be able to. Dominic Link to comment
hackbart
Depends on what you define with streaming. The Recordingservice allows to stream all available mediafiles via UPNP/DLNA. This works fine if you have a DLNA capable receiver. The last image here: http://www.DVBViewer...shots&sub=other is our TV in the living room for example Christian Link to comment
ddichiera
Christian, thanks for your reply. I think that image shows DLNA/UPNP streaming via device on the local network, which I use with my WDTVLive. What I'd like to do is play my Movies and Music when I'm not at home via the webserver. I can do this already for off-air recordings which have a log file and are in the database, but I can't see my Movies or Music i.e. DVDs and CDs I've ripped to my media server. bambuser
Do you need to transcode your media files or is your upstream sufficent to handle your files without transcoding ? Link to comment
Derrick
..a normal wired lan (100mbps) doesn't require transcoding. Link to comment
Lars_MQ
The webinterface of the RS does not include Mediafiles from the media library. I'm working on it, but it turned out to be a challenge to present the data in a useable way. Link to comment
ddichiera
Thanks for the reply. Is it because of the variety of file formats and codecs? It would be a fantastic addition if you can get it to work. Link to comment

That's for sure but he has no LAN available for this task....: What I'd like to do is play my Movies and Music when I'm not at home via the webserver. @Lars . This is great news. I'm looking forward to this feature for a long time now.. hang in there ! Link to comment
