H264 Recordings

Wonder if anyone can help please?

 

If I have say NHK HD on in DVBViewer, I need the h264 decoder set as the Power DVD decoder or another coder other than the microsoft one for a non-blocky picture.

 

When I record the channel in the Recording service, it records exactly as the image appears in DVBViewer with the H264 decoder set as the microsoft one.

 

How can I make the recording service record the channel as it appears in DVBViewer using the Powerdvd decoder rather than the microsoft decoder?

The recording service does NOT use any decoders. It just writes the data from the DVBStream, so you have to check your setup for playback.

Thank you. I understand, so it is the programme I used to play the recorded file back where the issue is and that if I changed the settings there it would display the data correctly.
