How does "check against" options work?

The "check against" tickboxes were introduced back in 1.9.2.

 

Except for the changelog, it's not documented anywhere as far as I can tell. Wiki definitely does not describe it.

 

I found some discussion with search but I'm not quite sure about some things.. "recording title" would be the title field you can see in the recording info file? What is "rec event"? can I see this on the recording info or web interface? "Info" field? "Description" field?

 

"timer name" is apparently both title and "event". Timer name is not visible anywhere?

Thanks for clarifying it for me

 

I experimented some by clearing the timer list and running "autotimer" task from the task menu. I wrote to the wiki based on my best understanding, pending approval.
