Setting up multiple RSTP devices

I have a quick question on setting up RSTP devices.

Is there a 1 to 1 relationship between the server device and the client device (i.e. for every client there should be a RSTP device on the server), or should there be just one server device to which all clients connect to?

e.g.

server rtsp device 1 --> client rtsp virtual device 1

server rtsp device 2 --> client rtsp virtual device 2

server rtsp device 3 --> client rtsp virtual device 3

or should it be..

server rtsp device 1 --> client rtsp virtual device 1

server rtsp device 1 --> client rtsp virtual device 2

server rtsp device 1 --> client rtsp virtual device 3

The RTSP (SAT>IP) virtual devices in the Recording Service is only necessary if you have a SAT>IP LNB.

In which case the Recording Service has to act as client.

There is no fix connection between hardware in the RC and virtual device in the DVBViewer.

To configure the RTSP devices in the DVBViewer use the wizard.

main menu → help → Rec. Service Wizard.

  • Notice: The wizard will ignore all existing settings for the RS connection.
  • On the first page you have to select an existing RS, enter the user name and password and click the "Test" button, only if the test is successful you can continue with "Next".
  • On the second page you can adjust the different options.
If the RS is on the same PC as the DVBViewer the download channel- and favorites list is disabled.
  • On the third page the wizard will list all needed/possible RTSP Devices. You can deselect devices which will be ignored.
The list will only offer two RTSP devices per tuner type, even if your server offers more devices.
If the RS is on the same PC as the DVBViewer, an option for disabling all local (real) DVB devices in the DVBViewer is available.
  • If you close the wizard with "Finish" the following things happen:
    • The RS options are saved, existing data will be overridden.
    • All Unicast Devices and if needed all local DVB devices are disabled.
    • All selected RTSP devices are created with the needed options and settings overriding the existing RTSP devices.
    • If selected the EPG, channel, timer, favorites lists etc. are downloaded (and loaded).

Ok thanks - I didn't know that.

DVBViewer crashed when I tried to run the Rec Sevice Wizard.

"Anwendugfehler - Exception EOIeException inmoule miniepgvars.dll bei 000531E7."

I'll post a full report in the DVBViewer beta reporting page.

I was ableto setup the RTSPdevice in DVBViewer manually with no problem.
