windflower
hi I not so much a newbie, been using DVBViewer fine on xp for 4 years. but now it's time to uprade my PC and leave xp behind. question is. when I first installed DVBViewer i had a fun game trying to get the gpu to handle the video output. I recall lots of fiddling around with codecs from expired versions of cyberlink and discovering the delights of graphedit and merit values. I got into a mess to be honest, then someone from here finally put me straight. So if I move to windows 8, am I going to have to go through that hell again? To be honest I cannot recall exactly how I got everything to work. Or is there by now an easier way to enable the gpu to handle the video? yours forgetfully.. Quote Link to comment
test
LAV Filters should take care of all. Quote Link to comment
McenterFreak
LAV Filters should take care of all. Do we need them? I think that a clean installation of Win7 should work fine, and i think its the same with win8 Quote Link to comment
QBox User
Windows 8 doesn't have an MPEG2 decoder, unless maybe you have the Media Center upgrade, so something will need to be added. LAV seems a reasonable choice to start with. It has various configuration options for GPU acceleration. Quote Link to comment
