satdown
I recently purchased a TBS6981 dual tuner sat card, with which I am so far very happy. I have decided that I require more tuners. I see it that I have 2 options :- 1. Buy a quad tuner(TBS6984) and sell the dual. 2. Buy another dual tuner, a TBS6981 or some other dual tuner. Are there any pros/cons to using a quad over 2 dual tuners. Would both options work well with DVBViewer? Quote Link to comment
satdown
Went for the TBS6984, it's been up and running for about 10 days - all is running sweetly at the moment, although time will tell. Pros Only takes up one slot and extra power supply is only necessary for one card. Possible remote problems with 2 cards, although thinking about this DVBViewer could be controlled with just one IR connected. Cons Financial - I have the TBS6981 to sell at a loss. If a card fails, I would still have one card that can be used. The remote for the TBS6981 has more keys hence better usability, although this might be down to the card version. As far as DVBViewer is concerned, I don't think it makes much difference whether you have 1 PCI-E card or 2. Quote Link to comment
