We thought about this also, but (for now) decided against it. It's not a trivial task. There are so many things you have to take into consideration and it requires manual supervision for which we simply don't have the man power.

Well my idea was to have users mantain it, and I know its not easy to implement but IMHO the biggest problem would be the logos that are copyrighted material (you can always claim fair use dreamboxes use "picons").

Btw lyngsat and kingofsat rely on users to mantain db updated.

Great idea DunnoX, agree it's a big task for one person or Lars to take on and would need to be an ongoing community effort on a region by region. For example I'd be only interested in the UK region, mainly the FTA satellite channels. I have all my channels categorised and most of the logos I use come from (link below), which you'll see shows how big a task it is. While logos are copyrighted, here in the UK the owners have no issue with the fair use nature of the logos - they even provide a epg feed for us.

I realize how much a efford it's I mainly use hispasat 30.0w and had to make channel list and find the icons by hand, I took some picons (picons==channel logos for dreambox) from a forum other from providers website and edited to have transparency etc.I would not mind to mantaining hispasat list I update it weekly.

      Hello.
I really like DVBViewer but i miss the enigma of one view. Will DVBViewer be able to set this up? I think many people will like it.

      Hi there.
using latest DVBViewer v5.3 on system connected to TV via HDMI

but Skin just like other DVB STB's or Satellite Player Receivers needed.

because usually we are far from TV so can't watch DVBViewer Menus correctly easily, I thought those Channel's Names on Channel List inside DVBViewer's Default Skin is very small.

we're going to blind to try to watch Channel Names from distance about 5 meter from TV and furniture.
I know it is developed for PC or Desktop so users sit front of Monitors but in this situation described (system connected to TV) using DVBViewer is not as easy of those front monitors.

Please add some Skin similar to Set Top Boxes with very large Menu featured at least just to change Channels.

help to feel of use a professional real Set Top Box connected to TV.
      maybe just Skin needed.

      Hi all,

I am aiming at, seemingly, very simple task: I would like to export the channel list from DVBViewer to a text file, and I would like to have the channel numbers included in the list. So I can print the list of my 3000 channels and have them handy when I want to switch the channel with my remote by simply dialing a relevant number.

I keep failing, however, to include the channel numbers in the .csv export file! I can have them displayed in the channel window, but impossible to export into a text file for processing and printing.

I would greatly appreciate any tip or advice on this.

      Many thanks in advance,
      Kate
