theShiZa
Hi all. Is it possible to install the Codecs from the Trial version of PowerDVD 13 to use with DVBViewer without PowerDVD 13 itself installed ?? I read somewhere that I can download even a trial version of PowerDVD 13 & copy the Filters from the install file without having to install PowerDVD itself & have to register the .ax files manually, will this work ?? I've also read that I have to manually register the .dll's that come with the PowerDVD 13 Codecs as well as the .ax files themselves so now I'm just confused. I've had some messy dramas with Codecs/Filters/Decoders before & have done a fresh install of Windows 7 x64 & really don't want to try things & stuff my PC like before if I don't know much about it manually registering Codecs. Ede_123
Taking the codecs from the demo version works fine. Just copy the content of the "VideoFilter" directory from the installer to your hard disk. To extract the installer you can try an file archiver you have available or just start the installer and copy the files from your systems temp folder before actually pressing the install button. Afterwards you have to register the "CLCvd.ax" using the command regsvr32.exe CLCvd.ax Edited June 6, 2013 by Ede_123 Quote Link to comment
theShiZa
Ede_123 I appreciate your reply & help! I done as you suggested, registered the "CLCvd.ax" using the command & my DVBViewer now shows & using the PowerDVD 13 Decoder, THANKS! So do I need to register any other files in that Cyberlink Video Filters folder wether it's .dll or other .ax files or is this all I need ? I also noticed there's another folder there with VideoFilter called VideoFilterHVD, is this for High Definition or something ? Thanks, Ash. Edited June 7, 2013 by theShiZa Quote Link to comment
Ede_123
No, as long as you only want to use the video codecs (PowerDVD comes also with it's own audio codecs and splitters) you don't need to register anything else. As for the "VideoFilterHVD" I'm not sure. This folder exists since PowerDVD 13. II already asked here in the forum but nobody seems to know. To be sure not to miss anything I just copied the contents from "VideoFilterHVD" to "VideoFilter" so far (some files are new => copy, some are larger => replace, some are smaller => skip, some are duplicates => skip). I don't know if this step is necessary, though, at least it seems not to break anything. Edited June 7, 2013 by Ede_123 Quote Link to comment
theShiZa
Ede_123 thanks for your reply, you are the man! I also have Cyberlink H264/AVC Decoder to choose for my HD channels in DVBViewer Options but the only reason that's there is because I have Cyberlink Power Producer program installed. Appreciate your help! Thanks, Ash. Quote Link to comment

Ede_123
You should start a command promt with administrative rights (right click -> start as administrator). Then go to the directory where "CLCvd.ax" is loacated (using the "cd" command). Run the above command ("regsvr32.exe CLCvd.ax") to install the filter. Following these steps should normally work. Maybe you just had a typo in the command line? Quote Link to comment

Now it works fine, I had to rename the folder where I saved videofilterfolder and write regsvr32 instead of regsvr32.exe in the commandline, when I wrote .exe I just got an error:... not an valid command. Ede_123
Strange, should work with .exe extension, too. Anyway good to know it is working now. Quote Link to comment
