schedule recording not starting

I am loosing many recordings and not sure what to do to correct it.

The recordings are shown in the "Timer"

They are listed in the Scheduler.

I updated the Timer and closed DVBViewer as it warns about the scheduler not being updated otherwise.

I then got no recordings until I again run DVBViewer.

It doesn't always happen. Sometimes DVBViewer opens (blank screen) and the recordings start.

blank screen? - is it tune to desired channel? if yes, and signal is strong try some other codecs...

When a scheduled recording begins it starts up DVBViewer and then I get a blank screen - no channel is selected. The recording is saved.

If I select a channel then that is displayed.

Signal not an issue. Codecs not an issue as far as I know.

The issue is that sometimes if doesn't run DVBViewer when it is scheduled to so so so I get no recording even with the recording listed in the Timer and on the Scheduler.

Use the Recording Service instead. In that way DVBViewer client doesn't even need to be started to record a show.

Thanks - I would like to but ... it gets heavy going. I'll have another look at the installation.
