DvbRecServ over the web

you need to know your public IP -> http://www.utrace.de/

and you must known the port number, you have choose, from your DVBViewer Recording Service (Web/UPnP -> Enable Webserver -> Port)

the you must have exceptions in your PC Firewall and in your router too.

after you have done this. you can call your webserver over the web. the adress can be xx.xxx.219.182:8089 or so

you don't need to access your pc. only the port from the webserver is important, and the public ip of course.

PUBLIC IP : PORT

like this

188.40.16.134:8089

certainly you can use your webadress + :PORT to access the DVBViewer RecordingService

but in your router and the pc firewall you must be add exceptions for the port

I suppose in most routers 8089 is a private LAN port not accessible from i.net. Port 80 is usually the public one and should be port forwarded to 8089.

That's the point: Via internet you have direct access to your home gateway (internet router). In this router you must configure a port forwarding rule to your PC running the web interface. Example:

Internet -> PublicIP_Router:Port1 -> PC_WebInterface:Port2

Port1 and Port2 can be different.

I've found a way access the netstream over the web but it's slow as hell. I use a little app here: http://www.no-ip.com/client/ducsetup.exe

It send my public ip to my no-ip account

Then in my router/modem in the NAT/PAT i add a rule for netstream port 2345 and the static ip of my computer's lan card.

It don't work for the webinterface though (port 8089)

Does someone has an idea on how to make it work with the web interface on port 8089 with no-ip ?

Edit:

Well i've found out, it's port 80 that must be used.

Now i have an error when i start streaming i get an error window "libvlccore.dll is missing"

the video is played no problem with netstream enabled (port 2345) but i don't have access to the webinterface anymore until this window is closed .

I could close it automatically with eventghost but this window don't have an event when it opens ! I feel I'm doomed

Well it turns out that i had to put the libvlccore.dll in the httpserver's main folder. You can find the dll in the vlc folder if installed already indeed
