Compro VideoMate Vista T100 PCI card works in DVBViewer in Win 8.1

I thought some of you out there would like to know that the VideoMate Vista T100 PCI card works using the DVBViewer on Windows 8.1.

Not being a TV specialist, trying to get the VideoMate card to work in Windows 8.1 was difficult.

The Compro software that came with the card could not even find any channels when scanning.

 

When I used the DVBViewer free demo, it did find the channels when scanning, but could only play the audio channels.

Video channels gave the error "Cannot render Mediafile/Output pin. error: 0x80040218 No combination of filters could be found to render the stream".

 

After researching this on the WEB, I downloaded free filter software from CODEC.

 

By the time I had done this, the 45 minutes of the free DVBViewer had run out.

 

I took the gamble and bought DVBViewer, and after a bit of fiddling with the install it works great.

 

Now I am looking forward to exploring all the functionality DVBViewer offers.
