DVBViewer use a lot of memory video, depending on codecs, content, etc.

on this video, http://www.dvdloc8.com/clip.php?movieid=12167&clipid=3

on single monitor, 1280 resolution, ati 6970 gpu 2gb video memory, fx8350 octacore cpu.
DVBViewer - 170mb video memory ( from what i know DVBViewer is build on mediaplayer classic )
mediaplayer homecinema - 150 mb video memory
windows mediaplayer 12 - 100 mb video memory
smplayer - 10mb video memory
vlc - 85 mb video memory
bsplayer - 9mb video memory

On live tv, on HBO HD DVBViewer use 220 mb video memory, and on SD content about 70-100mb.

Lav used 20-30 more video memory, then is arcsoft, cyberlink, microsoft.

Microsoft is best on memory footprint.

If i start my TV( conected on PC with HDMI) and put an video on it, videomemory doubled on DVBViewer and mediaplayer homecinema. Like 3-4-500 videomemory usage.... lol. And last night i even say 800mb memory usage on DVBViewer on TV, and when i exit DVBViewer i saw in gpuz 100mb usage, so DVBViewer was using 700mb video memory

Bsplayer, Smplayer, use 10-20mb videomemory even on TV, with 2 device connected.

I post an thread on klite forum, because they add mediaplayer home cinema in their codecs package.

It seems that EVR its the culprit in DVBViewer and mpc-hc for memory huge consumption.

If i put VMR9 memory footprint is 10mb or so.

And when DVBViewer/mpc-hc is using over 5-600mb video memory i receive an message from win7 on my desktop, with these:

The Desktop Window Manager is experiencing heavy resource contention.
Scenario : Video memory resources are over-utilized and there is thrashing happening as a result. Reducing number of running programs and open windows may help resolve this condition.

The Desktop Window Manager is experiencing heavy resource contention.
Scenario : The Desktop Window Manager responsiveness has degraded.

The Desktop Window Manager is experiencing heavy resource contention.
Reason : Graphics subsystem resources are over-utilized.
Diagnosis : A consistent degradation in frame rate for the Desktop Window Manager was observed over a period of time.

Not at all.

Maybe the video memory consumption is caused by EVR renderer customization (own D3D presenter unit for enhanced OSD capabilities). Try the pure EVR in DVBViewer Pro instead of the Custom EVR.

evr normal mode use 50mb lower then evr custom. Its not an big thing, i have 2 gb of video ram.

But i will test this on my laptop with 256mb video ram, to see how much is using.

Because on my laptop HD livestream work perfect in DVBViewer.
