McenterFreak
I am on holliday, and i want to reach my RS with DVBViewer. I har forwarder port 8089 in my router and added this port in my firewall on the RS machine. I can reach RS webpage without any problem, and if i press Test connection in DVBViewer it is fine. But i cant Watch any channels. It says No Hardware Link to comment
Tjod
The DVBViewer is not designed to stream though the internet. It uses a lot more ports and has no access protection on thoughts services. (and some used protocols are not routable though the internet if I'm right) So it is a bad idea to open this ports from the internet. A solution could be a VPN server at home. But only if you have a fast enough internet connection 8 MB/s (15 MB/s for HD) upstream or more (the mostly faster downstream is not relevant) Bout you can try the streaming via Web-interface (if ffmpeg.exe is in the RS folder). Click on a channel logo > start stream. Link to comment
McenterFreak
I have tried to use streaming through the webinterface, but its not stable. It runs for a few minutes, then stops Link to comment
Tjod
Not sure what causes this problem. Maybe reducing the bit rate helps. Link to comment
