ThaHandy
Hi,I've the feeling this has to do due to I'm using a network tuner "Silicondust HDHomeRun HDHR3-4DC Tuner" adding that extra load on the OS (kernel time). Because when I'm using the PCI tuner there are mostly no errors.This issue mostly occur when the recording service is busy in the background, ie. starting/stopping a record or me using the Recording Service webGUI.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Device: Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 14103C38-0 (2)23:40:04 / 0:00:00 (~ 0,00 MB) Start23:40:06 / 0:00:02 (~ 1,31 MB) PID 7611: H.264 Video, 16:9, 1920x1088, 25 fps23:40:06 / 0:00:02 (~ 1,31 MB) PID 1102: MPEG Audio J. bccrew
This is not very serious imho. I'm recording from cable daily and I have errors in almost every recording.. 20:14:00 / 0:00:00 (~ 0,00 MB) Start20:14:01 / 0:00:01 (~ 0,76 MB) PID 307: H.264 Video, 16:9, 1920x1088, 25 fps20:14:01 / 0:00:01 (~ 0,76 MB) PID 607: MPEG Audio Stereo, 48 khz, 256 kbps20:14:01 / 0:00:01 (~ 0,76 MB) PID 707: MPEG Audio Stereo, 48 khz, 256 kbps20:40:11 / 0:26:11 (~ 1404,58 MB) Errors: 120:54:03 / 0:40:02 (~ 2151,78 MB) Errors: 220:54:42 / 0:40:42 (~ 2187,21 MB) Errors: 220:59:24 / 0:45:23 (~ 2440,07 MB) Errors: 121:03:04 / 0:49:04 (~ 2638,19 MB) Errors: 121:33:46 / 1:19:46 (~ 4266,64 MB) Errors: 121:52:00 / 1:38:00 (~ 5249,86 MB) Stop These can just be simple AC3 frame errors or little discrepancies in the signal. I hardly see them when I view the recording later.. Link to comment
Derrick
..there are no AC3 frames, and yes, it is serious! Link to comment
ThaHandy
The errors I have are real errors. The video is glitching for a split second if i check on those times.Recordings can be flawless as long i don't touch the service.(i have 100% signal) Below is a recording of 12 hours!Device: Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 14103C38-0 (2)6:40:02 / 0:00:00 (~ 0,00 MB) Start6:40:03 / 0:00:01 (~ 0,13 MB) PID 7611: H.264 Video, 16:9, 1920x1088, 25 fps6:40:05 / 0:00:02 (~ 1,18 MB) PID 1102: MPEG Audio J. ThaHandy
So, any info how rs is dealing with the data? Where the lag can be? Any debug info? Link to comment
Piers
I've noticed recording errors when using the RS to record, using another application there are no issues with streams. However, it's still a very impressive application and worth the money. Link to comment
