recorder autostart?

Sorry if this is answered elsewhere, if it is I couldn't find it.

DVBV on PC running Windows 8.1

The first recording I set up was a few days in advance, the recorder didn't kick in and I missed what I wanted.

Tried another test recording with DVBV running and the recording worked as expected. Migrating from Hauppauge WinTV this is not what I expected (that recorder kicks in without the viewer loaded)

So . . . I set DVBV to autoload at boot time (into a minimised window).

Scheduled recordings now take place, but DVBV will not launch from its minimised state in the task bar. Neither will it close, I am forced to use 'End Task' from the Task Manager.

At that stage I can launch DVBV from it's shortcut on my desktop.

I have now had to stop DVBV on the startup programs list, and remember to launch it if I have any recordings scheduled for that date.

Are there some settings I'm missing somewhere? Or is this the way it works?

Searching the forum I've found a previous answer . . .

"If you want just wake up the pC for recording then Task Scheduler is it.
If you want network streaming to mutliple PC, UPnP/DNLA, a webinterface then use Recording Service."

Thanks
