championc
I read in the release notes that m3u files were to be supported from ver 5.6.0 but I have a file which works with VLC Player but won't play on ver 5.6.1 Any thoughts ? Quote Link to comment
Tjod
Only "DVB IPTV lists" (multicast stream with one IP:port combination per channel) are supported as transponder list for a DVB IPTV channel scan. Nerveless it is possible to open m3u files as play-list in the DVBViewer Pro. And if the filter codecs an splinter are installed im Windows playback should work. But you can't add them to the channel list. Quote Link to comment
championc
I simply got my m3u file, right clicked on it, and selected Open with DVBViewer. So I wasn't trying to add it to any lists - only to just start playing the channel. Since it works OK with VLC Player, I can only assume that I have the correct codecs in place. So how can I use it ? Tjod
VLC uses its on Codecs and doesn't rely on the DirectShow filters installed in the system. A good starting point is LAV Filters (the DVBViewer needs the 32 Bit version of codecs). But then it depends on the streaming protocol and the codecs used by the stream. Quote Link to comment
championc
Many thanks. I've tried LAV Filters but unfortunately no joy. I've sent you a PM with a link to mu M3U file and I'd be very grateful if you could check it and try it out Quote Link to comment
Tjod
I assume that is a .ts stream. Start with try the URL in Playback > Open URL.. Maybe try http://c40000-l.d.core.cdn.streamfarm.net/40000mb/live/4734nhk/nhkworld2500.ts (NHK World German HbbTV, if not blocked outside of germane). It works here Quote Link to comment
championc
That works - but my URL does not. my url is http://mydnsname.com:8001/1:0:1:189D:7FD:2:11A0000:0:0:0::BBC One Lon Quote Link to comment
Tjod
I have currently no idea what the problem there is. Quote Link to comment
championc
I have currently no idea what the problem there is. Is there any debugging info that I can do and provide to the developers to help resolve the issue or to prove that there is indeed a bug ? Quote Link to comment
Tjod
You could start DVBViewer via "DVBViewer Pro (Debug Mode)" then you get more informations in the DVBViewer.log (streaming URL maybe error nemeses which codecs are used). But I don't know if there are helpful informations. That mostly relies on the DirectShow System.https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd375470(v=vs.85).aspxYou could try opening the stream in GraphStudioNext and then try to get the DVBViewer to use the same Filter via GraphPresets Quote Link to comment

Where is the Debug Mode in DVBViewer Pro ? I even searched in the wiki and couldn't find it. As for GraphStudioNext, I've absolutely no idea as to what to do in it. I looked at images in Google and it shows various components linked together. I assume that you build these things up. I also assume that no video will be displayed at all, and that it's just a tool.
