In need of help

Hi to everyone!

Since I'm waiting for almost a day for new credentials to the membership area, I downloaded demo version.

To be frank, I didn't use DVBViewer for ages, as I've been on Linux for many years.

After TVHeadend, which has no scanning procedure at all and is too simple I met a lot of difficulties in understanding DVBViewer.

I'll say big thank you to everyone who will help me.

My questions are very simple.

1. I have 4 tuners (Digital Devices Cine S2 v.6.5 and DuoFlix S2).

Every time I start scanning DVBViewer uses tuner 1.

Just once it used tuner 2 for scanning.

How can I choose the tuner and scan?

2. How can I scan using tuner 1 and copied channels to tuners 2-4?

I have 7 sattelites and scanning procedure is boring for me.

3. How can I map channels with the same name from different tuners?

Channel 1 = {Channel 1 tuner 1, Channel 1 tuner 2, Channel 1 tuner 3, Channel 1 tuner 4}.

4. I read that DVBViewer cannot understand *.m3u with http/udp links unless they are MPEG-TS.

So because of that my aim is to use DVBViewer as a slave server.

My question is - is there a possibility to get an *.m3u with http links of all mapped channels inside DVBViewer for view-on-demand in the 3rd party application like MediaPortal or DVBLink?

5. How can I add favourites of my on (sport, drama, etc.)?

1-3) It is not necessary to scan with different tuner.

You only need to scan each sat position once. Each channel should be only once in the channel list.

Only if not all tuner are able to receive all 7 sat positions. Or you using different pay-TV subscriptions it could be necessary to tell DVBViewer this via channel groups.

4) use the Recording Service it is a streaming server and you can generate play-lists in the web interface.

But make sure everything works in the DVBViewer first.

Thank you very much for the answer!

Yes, my 4 tuners work perfectly with Diseqc 1.1 on Linux.

The only reason why I'm looking for the best SW on Windows is CIs (Octopus Twin CI + DuoFlex Twin CI), which are not working with TVHeadend and any other application on Linux.

Too bad, as I don't like Windows at all.

Sorry, I didn't understand what you suggest...

OK. I will try.

If it is really view-on-demand, but not unicast/multicast (I have more that 2 000 channels and view-on-demand is the only way to use DVBViewer as a slave-server)

NB

I'm still waiting for new credentials to download again DVBViewer, which I bought in 2007!

If you use the same pay-tv subscription in both card you don't need them.

Hmm.. Trying to get what you mean.

Yes, I have several cards (viaccess, nagra, conax and seca), which are successfully shared between 4 tuners

On Linux.

Not tried on Windows yet

I have this for more than a day:

There's no confirmation email to update my credentials for 2 days.

No way for me to download again SW, which I bought in 2007.

And another question.

If I start scanning, tv stops.

Seems strange, because I have 4 tuners and DVBViewer tries to use the same tuner for both watching and scanning, which causes the conflict.

Is there any way to solve the problem?

OK, I'll mail that person.

What about my question regarding the same tuner of 4 for scanning and watching live TV?

So I installed the Pro version and Recording Service.

My schema is working fine: 4*Kodi <> MediaPortal TVServer (4*IPTV virtual cards) < 4*m3u with http links.

The 4 Digital Devices DVB-S2 tuners working independently.

But there are some questions.

1. In HW section of DVBViewer options the 4 Digital Devices DVB-S2 are switched off and 2 DVB-S2 RTSP Network Devices are switched on.

I found no manuals describing DVB-S2 RTSP Network Devices.

Does it meen that if I use inside MediaPortal TVServer RTSP streaming instead of HTTP streaming I could use only 2*Kodi instances at one time (2*Kodi = 2 DVB-S2 RTSP Network Devices)?

If yes, how can I add 2 more DVB-S2 RTSP Network Devices?

2. RTSP server uses port 554.

But MediaPortal TVServer also uses port 554.

Do I have to change the port in Recording Service to e.g. 555?

3. I'm planning to extract EPG from DVBViewer using vbscript.

But API docs are not enough for me:

- I can't understand where I can get SID, TID and NID to calculate EPGChannelID,

- what is the response structure (I don't see any delemeters to be parsed).

Maybe you can pont to the manuals.

1. The hardware in controlled by the RS (here). The DVBViewer assesses the TV stream via RS.
And the DVBViewer need max. 2 devices 1 for the main playback and one for picture in picture.
Recordings are executed by the RS so no need for more devices in the DVBViewer.

(you need the DVBViewer only for managing the channel list if you don't uses it as client)

But the "hardware" in the DVBViewer has nothing to do with other streaming clients.

If you us Kodi, there is a add-on for Kodi to connect to the RS.

http://kodi.wiki/view/DVBViewer

2. RTSP server uses port 554.
But MediaPortal TVServer also uses port 554.
Do I have to change the port in Recording Service to e.g. 555?

On one PC (specific one IP address) only one program can can use a specific port.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_%28computer_networking%29

So you have to disable on server or change all defected ports in one program.

3. Use the RS Web API instead of the DVBViewer to get the EPG

http://en.DVBViewer.tv/wiki/Recording_Service_API

You need channel list and the EPG to make the connection:
