HD vs. SD recording

When I record SD programs they are saved as MPG as I set in the settings but when HD program is recorded it is always saved as TS format no matter what I set in the settings. Is this normal?

The DVBViewer doesn't transcode. That means audio and video formats are saved unchanged.

Only the container format can be changed from TS (used for DVB) to mpg.

 

But the MPEG2 container is not a real option for h.264/h265 video.
