Is it possible to run DMS 2.0.0 on the same server where RS 1.33.1.0 are running?

I would like to make a "slow" transition where my clients being upgraded to DVBViewer 6.0.0 over time

Or do i need to make a "clean cut" upgrading RS to DMS, and upgrade all clients to 6.0.0 at the same time?

Do a "clean cut". It only takes a few minites per pc.

Install DVBViewer 6.0 on all clients. Don't launch any of them.

On the pc with RS:

Stop Recording Service, and Exit Tray Control.

First install  DVBViewer 6.0  then DVBViewer Media Server 2.0

Worked fine here

Install the DVBViewer Pro 6.0.0 and run the KeyTool and kick there in the DMS section on the lick to buy the DMS.

After you got the licence key, the DMS should be in the Members Area (Login with the data for the connected DVBViewer) in the "Paid Additions" section.

One question before purchasing. According to the changelog:

Quote
  • Removed: Unicast / DVB Server: This out-dated server type for DVBViewer clients is not available anymore. Its functionality is fully covered by the RTSP/Sat>IP server. If the Unicast DVB Server is essential for some reason please stay with Recording Service 1.33.2 beta and DVBViewer Pro 5.6.4.

How is it supposed to work on Kodi if RTSP support was removed? (and if I remember correctly it was far slower than Unicast)

https://github.com/kodi-pvr/pvr.DVBViewer/commit/a991482da79c2f21f4d015d0549eb8d3f2754d41

The RTSP server has not been removed. The Unicast / DVBServer has been removed. That's a different thing.

User name and password you need for the DMS/RS web interface. Nothing has changed there. Since some RS versions, if you heave never used the RS and you have beginner questions start a topic in the RS section and don't post RS beginner questions in this topic here.

The DMS is more or less a updated the RS Beta, you should try the RS fist if you never have used it.

In short it manage you locale TV card in the PC, makes recordings an enables other PC/Notebook manly in your LAN (house) to watch channels the TV card in the server PC can can receive.

I don't think making a video tutorial for one ting is better the answering 50-200 questions in the forum or writing/updating 5-20 article in the Wiki.

It is simply the questioned where to spend the time. Stop the forum support a future development for creating video tutorial is not relay a option.

If nobody volunteers to make make video tutorial in his free time. There will be no video tutorial. Feel free to crest one for every step you have understando:)

DVBViewer-hbbtv-Media Server

The DVBViewer Media Server has nothing to do with HbbTV.

Zitat

I would like to see other channels (another country TV ) hbbtv !

You are mixing up a lot of this which aren't related at all. HbbTV is more or less the updated version of teletext (in the form of special web pages) end fix connected to a DVB-(T/C/S) channel. And some channels Provide only the meta data via DVB-(T/C/S) an the video is streamed via internet.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_Broadcast_Broadband_TV

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_television

You get HbbTV links in you TV signal. And most sites will be in accessible from other contrary.

Most internet streaming channels use geoblocking.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geo-blocking

Therefore mostly the easiest solution, to get channels from other contrary is to use DVB-S and point the dish to the sat position used for the other country.

Redistributing channels to other persons without a permission from the channel is illegal. Therefore don't expect things in this direction from the DVBViewer/DMS. If channels have free TS or HLS streams. You can watch then in the DVBViewer 6.0.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MPEG_transport_stream

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_Live_Streaming

But no more question no directly relate to the DMS.

You where asking for streaming and not recording and now you are complaining about that there is no recording but only streaming.

Describe in-depth what you try to achieve. I will not try to explain things to you until I have understand what you end goal is.

What do you try to achieve?

What devices/entities are involved (TV card, streamin server, client software etc.)?

Where are they located (in one PC, one network via the internet)?

Be as precise and detailed as possible.

So general questions from you site will not achieve this.

I access EPG web site anywhere by typing the IP address of my home PC and the port number that you had set up in the DVBViewer Recording Service in this format:
http://{your_home_pc_ip}:{port_number}/ ,NO?

So you try to assess the web interface from the internet?

To watch TV streamed from your pc (TV card) if you somewhere else, in the web browser?

Do you have a static IP or DDNS setup?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_DNS

The pc where the DMS is running has a static IP in your LAN?

Then you need to set-up port forwarding in you router, for the web interface port by default 8089 (TCP) from the internet to the PC with DMS.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_forwarding

And then you need to set a User name and password for the DMS web interface and aloe assess there from the internet.

http://en.DVBViewer.tv/wiki/Options_Service_-_Web_Settings

And set the password in the local DVBViewer client (Help > Media Server Wizard).

Then you should be able to assess the web interface via your public IP:port. It will ask for user name and password.

And you need a second internet access e.g. smart phone not in WLAN to test this.

Hi Tjod,

i am currently using the last versions of DVBViewer and SR, current setup: internal cable TV Tuner where i inserted my TV provider smart card.

when streaming live tv over the internet (DVBViewer android app or web) i have two issues:

1)  cannot see the subtitles in the transcodded stream for live tv channels (it is working on the webinterface but not on android app)

2)  encrypted channels are not available

will DVBViewer Media Server 2.0 be able to solve these two issues?

Thanks.

Rather looks like the result of wrong settings / a wrong configuration. So the answer is no. The DMS 2.0 won't solve such issues. Please post in the Newbies or General forum to get support, not here.

Hi,

if i use ts stream with new dmc kodi addon say "unable to parse channels".

If i remove it it's working again.

It's a kodi plugin bug?

Are you going to update the kodi plugin?

Please help.

Andrea
