No hardware found, heavy CPU useage - resolved

I have been using the current version of dbviewer since July without trouble, Last night I found the Recording Service taking up a lot of CPU. Opening dbviewer it could not find any channel and then reported no hardware. I checked all settings and rebooted a few times. Same issues although sometimes I had Freeview working.

Eventually I uninstalled all the software. Removed folders.

I downloaded the latest version - file size slightly larger, reinstalled and scanned for channels.

Everything back to normal.

In a similar vain - Recording services taking up CPU time - my daughter took her PC to university with the Blackgold card still installed. It is not connected to any aerial or antenna so get no signal. There are no programmes to be recorded. It does not always happen and when noticed the services are simply removed from task manager. We may have to remove all the software and hardware and re-install when back home to get the signals.
